Observation of total solar eclipse of March 29, 2006 at g.Elbrus.

Posted on January 20th, 2006 at 18:30 Author: netwind

March 29 will be a total solar eclipse (very rare) that I'm going to watch at the top of Elbrus ...
And the expedition planned entirely serious, and I would like to find more willing to participate and, of course, sponsors.

Also, can someone can suggest how to do a press release more attractive to sponsors?

Observation of total solar ZATMNENIYA March 29, 2006
the place of observation - Mount Elbrus RUSSIA

March 29, 2006. in most of the RUSSIA will experience a rare astronomical phenomenon - SOLAR ZATMNENIE. In the European part of the Urals and Western Siberia are visible partial phases of the phenomenon. The band of totality will pass through the Caucasus, Kalmykia, just south of the city of Astrakhan, through Kazakhstan to the north of the border between Mongolia and Russia.
In this band, just over 150 km in width., At the time of complete closure of the Moon the Sun will be in for about 3 minutes. watch - unusual for its beauty outside of the solar atmosphere called The solar corona glow: pearl silver color with a peculiar structure on the radiation background of dark blue sky.
Solar eclipse occurs in the Moon is when the moon passes between the Earth and the Sun and the Moon's shadow glides over the surface of the Earth. In view of the fact that the plane of the Moon's orbit around the earth is at a slight angle (approximately 5g) to the plane of rotation of the earth around the sun - eclipses do not occur so frequently (period of revolution of moon around the earth is approx. 28 days), as we would like ... If partial solar eclipse, many people see in my life several times, then the total (with crown) few who can see at least once in their lives ....

Based on all the above - initiative group was established to organize an expedition to monitor total solar ZATMNENIYA 29 32006g. on the highest mountain in Europe and Russia - Elbrus (5642m.)

GOALS and OBJECTIVES OF THE EXPEDITION
1) The main task is to conduct observations of unique phenomena in the high mountains: obtaining high-quality photo and video images of the phenomenon in general and the solar corona, in particular, with the most advanced methods of image registration. (Digital and analog methods)
2) Registration of motion of the lunar shadow on the earth's surface (over time), which can only be done after rising to a considerable height.
3) Join the movement on the slopes of the lunar shadow g.Elbrus (huge slopes of the mountain you will get unique shots moving shadows, and snow slopes - the perfect backdrop for the registration of such phenomena).
4) Observation of the phenomenon from different angles and different heights will show the enormity of the phenomenon FULL SUN ZATMNENIYA against the backdrop of the majestic Mount Elbrus.
5) large high altitude and thin air, dust-free and high transparency - guarantees a high quality, rare photos and video images of the solar corona.

In order to attract public attention to the very phenomena of solar ZATMNENIYA and expeditions planned placement of equipment on the TOP g.Elbrus.
The purpose of this campaign: setting a record total solar altitude observations ZATMNENIYA and record the height of the installation Homemade Amateur telescope and with the help of astronomical photos and videos of visual observations.
It is also planned to study the performance (testing) of different
photo and video cameras in the extreme conditions of high mountains. It is planned to conduct a direct internet broadcast from the venue of the action.

Plan of the expedition:
March 20 - Departure from Moscow
March 22 - Arrival in Terskol (Observatory)
March 23 - Staff of the arrangement of the expedition on the "Barrels" (3700m)
March 24-28 - preparing and bringing into operation of telescopes and equipment, conducting outreach and education work with the guests Elbrus, conducting observations of the demonstration, testing equipment on the performance in conditions of high and low temperatures.
March 29 - getting to the helicopter and surveillance equipment at the venue for groups of observations (at the top of Elbrusa 5642 and 5621m), the observation of the total phase, the removal of equipment and observation groups, and a return to "Drums", a press conference on the preliminary results of observations of Solar Eclipse.
March 30 - public demonstration of films obtained photographs taken on the tops and slopes g.Elbrus (Terskol Observatory)
March 31 - Departure from Terskol
April 2 - Arrival in Moscow

3) Group "West" - the western summit 5642 meters
Group "East" and "west" in the case of favorable conditions to hold astronomical observations, pictures and video effects and environmental magnificent panorama from the top of Mount Elbrus, in the area of observation will establish a commemorative pennant, flag the expedition as one of the vertices will install a small telescope for viewing the beauties of the surrounding and panoramas of climbers on the highest peak in Europe.

We invite all interested persons and companies
able to assist or take part in the observations at total solar g.Elbrus ZATMNENIYA March 29, 2006.
